NATHAN MEISTER LÆSER SAMUEL BECKETT
Som en lille opvarmning til Why Not Theatre Company‘s aktuelle opsætning af HAPPY DAYS vil den newzealandske/danske skuespiller Nathan Meister læse op af udvalgte Samuel Beckett-prosatekster i vores foyer på lørdage og torsdage i september.
Samuel Beckett er jo kendt som en af grundlæggerne af den absurde teatertradition, men man er mindre bekendt med hans mange fine prosaværker. Så nu giver Why Not Theatre Company dig muligheden for at læne dig tilbage i teatrets bløde foyerstole og opleve en anden side af mesterens fabelagtige sprogunivers.
Der vil bl.a. blive læst op fra The End, Expelled og Calmative. Samtlige tekster er skrevet i 1940’erne og behandler temaer som kroppens forfald, ensomhed og døden, som kun Beckett kan gøre det. Oplæsningerne varer ca. 30 min., det foregår på engelsk, og det koster nul kroner at overvære. Bare mød op!

NATHAN MEISTER READS SAMUEL BECKETT
As a little prelude to Why Not Theatre Company‘s HAPPY DAYS performances New Zealand/Danish actor, Nathan Meister, will be reading a pick of Samuel Beckett’s prose in the foyer of Teatret ved Sorte Hest on Saturdays and Thursday evenings in September.
Beckett is known for his significant role in forming the Absurd theatre tradition, however his prose texts are also treasures to be discovered. Why Not Theatre Company invites you to lean back in the comfy foyer seats and experience a different side to the master’s captivating linguistic universe.
The readings will consist of The End, Expelled and Calmative. All texts were written in the 1940s and address topics such as the body’s decline, loneliness and death. The readings are in English and last around 30 minutes. Free entry.
Saturdays: the 4th, 18th, & 25th of September at 4pm
Thursdays: the 16th & 23rd of September at 7pm.
