Helen Tennison is a theatre director working across classics, new writing, site-specific theatre and physical theatre.
Between 1998-2004 Helen performed in six Crazy Christmas Cabaret as well as other London Toast Theatre shows, including Willy Russel’s Educating Rita. Since then she has turned her hand to directing, winning multiple awards. Helen is Associate Artist at the Bathway Theatre, she is Associate Lecturer in Shakespeare at Goldsmiths University. She has worked at numerous UK and Europe venues and festivals. Her recent production Everything I See I Swallow which won an Edinburgh Fringe First Award, examined intergenerational feminism. Her production Dirty Corset won a WOW award at the Bergan Fringe in 2021 and is playing in London in 2022. From 2015-17 Helen ran the Two Year Acting Course at Drama Studio London and has led numerous theatre projects within the community, in prisons and young offenders institutions.

I årene 1998-2004 optrådte Helen selv i Crazy Christmas Cabaret og andre forestillinger ved London Toast Theatre, blandet andet Willy Russels’ Educating Rita. Siden har hun haft stor succes bag scenen som instruktør, og vundet flere priser. Helen arbejder ved Bathway Theatre og er lektor i Shakespeare ved Goldsmiths University. Hun har arbejdet ved Shakespeares Globe, og instrueret adskillige gange for Midsummer Scene Shakespeare festival i Kroatien. Derudover har hun instrueret ved flere spillesteder og festivaler i Storbritannien og Europa. Hendes seneste produktion Everything I see I Swallow, der undersøgte feminisme gennem generationer, vandt en Edinburgh Fringe first Award. Hendes Produktion Dirty Corset vandt en WOW- pris i Bergan Fringe i 2021, og spiller fortsat i London i 2022. Fra 2015–17 stod Helen for et toårigt skuespillerkursus i Drama Studio London og har ledet flere teaterprojekter i samfundet, i fængsler og for unge kriminelle.
